Hortensia Cottage is a traditional french holiday cottage in the village of Siran set in the famous Languedoc-Roussillon wine region of Southern France.
On the edge of the charming village of Siran, Hortensia Cottage is tucked away in a quiet corner, within easy walking distance of the village centre. Hortensia Cottage is an old stone french cottage with two totally private walled courtyards to the front & rear with jasmine, hydrangea and garden furniture.
The interior of this self catering cottage in Languedoc-Roussillon is pleasantly furnished, in harmony with its village setting. This holiday home in France has a pleaseant lounge area with wood burning stove. Off the lounge area is a fully fitted modern kitchen/dining area with full oven & hob, microwave & all crockery & utensils. From the kitchen, french doors lead out on to the secluded rear walled courtyard. On the first floor of the French holiday cottage are two double bedrooms & a fully fitted bathroom with bath, shower, toilet & hand basin. A further flight of stairs leads to the large open plan grenier which is fully furnished with a king size bed, chaise longue & airmchairs. The grenier has an en suite bathroom & walk in wardrobe. Hortensia Holiday Cottage Siran is therefore a French holiday cottage that can comfortably accomodate six people with the option of a bed settee in the lounge area to sleep an extra two people.
The charming village of Siran, with a population of approximately 600, is set in the heart of the Minervois wine growing region. Siran has a small local supermarket, a boulangerie, a friendly bar and two excellent restaurants. Siran village is 2km from the Pepieux leisure lake for swimming, boating and wind surfing. A short drive to the north east brings you to the beautiful fortified citadel of Minerve with its ramparts and deep canyons. Alternatively, a short drive south will bring you to the tree lined banks of the Canal du Midi. A 30 to 45 minute drive will take you to the Mediterranean coast & the excellent beaches of Narbonne, Gruissan & Valras. This holiday home in France is therefore an ideal base to explore Carcassonne, Minervois, Languedoc-Roussillon & the surrounding area.
Also not to be missed is the magical walled city of Carcassonne in the heart of the Minervois & Cathar region, with its narrow streets, restaurants & museums. Carcassonne is a 30 minute drive away & is the location of the Carcassonne Salvaza airport, to which direct Ryanair flights arrive daily from Stansted, East Midlands, Liverpool, Dublin, Cork & Shannon airports providing easy access to this holiday home in France.
